Two years after purchasing the former Guaymas restaurant, the
Michael Mina Group is announcing its plans for this destination
waterfront space in Tiburon.
The Bungalow Kitchen
Tiburon, featuring chef Mina’s brand of California cuisine in
what the group describes as a clubhouse setting, will open in the
spring of 2021 after a full renovation of the property.
The project is a collaboration between Mina, a Marin County
resident, and Hollywood nightclub entrepreneur Brent Bolthouse. The
pair’s first Bungalow Kitchen is scheduled to open early next
year in Long Beach.
Menu highlights will include the acclaimed chef’s signature
Lobster Pot Pie along with new offerings such as a Garden
“Punch” Bowl with gazpacho shooters, vegetables and dipping
sauces, and a Carbonara Pizza topped with crispy guanciale, Yukon
Gold potatoes, Pecorino Romano and a poached farm egg.
The Mina Group manages more than 40 restaurants worldwide; the
newest is Wit & Wisdom Tavern in Sonoma County.

In its heyday, Guaymas, which first opened in 1986, enjoyed a
reputation as the place along on the Marin County side of San
Francisco Bay to enjoy a margarita, a Mexican meal — and the
spectacular views. Anaheim-based Specialty Restaurants Corp.
operated the restaurant for the last decade of its tenure and
closed it in September 2018, after a period of mediocre reviews.
